On Friday, sisters Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe took a trip to a Planned
Parenthood in West Los Angeles, with the cameras rolling. Apparently,
the visit was a move for the trio to find ways to partner with Planned
Parenthood, according a source's report to TMZ.
[post_ads]It
would be a rare move for the reality TV show to focus on a hot-button
issue like access to health care given that it focuses primarily on the
personal lives of its stars. Serious issues have been featured on the
show before, however: Previous episodes have explored the Armenian
Genocide and the health issues Kim experienced while trying to conceive
and while carrying her first child, North West. The show has also
touched on mental health issues, including those faced by Kardashian
brother Robert, by Kim after she was the target of a robbery in Paris
last year, and by Kardashian sibling Kendall Jenner in the wake of an incident with a stalker.
Planned Parenthood is firmly in the crosshairs of the GOP, as shown by a recent bill signed by President Donald Trump
that allows states to revoke funding for health services such as cancer
screenings, birth control, and STI testing if the clinics providing
them also provide abortions, as Planned Parenthood does. The Kardashians
have yet to go on the record about their own feelings about the
organization, but it looks like it may not be long before they do.
