If you haven't watched Chewing Gum on Netflix, we strongly
suggest you stop everything you're doing right now and catch up on it
ASAP. The British coming-of-age TV show stars the hilarious and
incredibly talented Michaela Coel, who also is also the creator and
writer for it.
[post_ads]It's like Girls meets Skins, but the funniest version of both. Last night, Coel attended the BAFTA Television Awards in London and didn't wear just any
dress from off the rack. (In case you have never heard of that event
before, it's like the Emmys of England.) Coel noted on Instagram that
her mom made her colorful, geometric-printed mini dress.
This explains
why it looks like she was born to wear it. We're living for the way she
accessorized, too. Where can we shop those rose gold block heels?
With
yesterday being Mother's Day in the U.S., the thought of Coel wearing a
dress made by her mom is incredibly sentimental and adorable. However,
that probably wasn't Coel's original intention. The U.K. celebrates
Mother's Day earlier than we do. This year, it fell on March 26. Still,
the mother-daughter love is real.

And this isn't the first time the
actress has slipped on one of her momma's creations. Back in April,
Coel's mom designed a gorgeous black halter dress with an asymmetrical
hem for her for the Olivier Awards. And if you are a fan of Chewing Gum,
you've already seen another one of Michaela Coel's mom's designs. The
bikini she wears during the second episode of season 2 was put together
by her mom, too.
