Though most of us might prefer to garden a little more covered up to
avoid possible sunburns and bee stings, Paris Jackson just made a pretty
strong argument for digging up some dirt in the nude. Paired with a
gorgeous black and white photo of herself in her own garden, Jackson
just shared some thoughts on her Instagram about gardening, nudity, and
body-positivity that we can really get behind.
[post_ads]The post comes after Jackson was shamed for posting a photo of herself
sunbathing nude in her garden, and she has some strong words for those
who question the practice. In the caption, she talks about how being
nude makes her feel more connected to the earth, and says that nudity
doesn't have to be a sexual thing. She writes, "the human body is a
beautiful thing and no matter what "flaws" you have, whether it be
scars, or extra weight, stretch marks, freckles, whatever, it is
beautiful and you should express yourself however you feel comfortable."
While the sorts of "flaws" she lists often have a tendency to make
people want to cover up, we think it's beautiful that she's encouraging
us to celebrate our differences.
Another great point she makes is
that "part of feminism is being able to express yourself in your own
way, whether it's being conservative and wearing lots of clothes or
showing yourself." Sometimes, women assume that other women dress a
certain way because of patriarchal pressures — by either choosing to
cover up, or choosing not to.

Feminism isn't about judging the choices
of others, it's simply about fighting for each person's right to make
those choices on their own. Jackson isn't saying here that everyone
should go naked, she's simply saying she enjoys it, and that if you wanna garden au naturale, she supports that choice.
We just hope she's wearing sunscreen.
