Whether you’re in a long-term relationship or happily single, the thought of sex probably crosses your mind a few times a day (maybe more, depending on how satisfied you are). The issue of having enough sex with your partner is definitely something to think about when you’ve been with someone for a while. There’s some recent research done, though, that will give you a couple tips on keeping the fire alive in your sex life, and you might be surprised to learn how simple they are.
[post_ads]Three different studies were conducted with 245 heterosexual individuals. A team of psychologists at the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya, Israel led the research to find what would make people more aroused and more willing to reach out for sexual encounters. In each study, one group was shown sexually charged pictures or movie clips (one was from Original Sin with Angelina Jolie and Antonio Banderas) while the other was shown neutral images, like pictures of cats.
Not surprisingly, the groups who were exposed to the sexy stimuli were more likely to engage with a person in a chat room (who was really a researcher) in more intimate ways.
They shared their personal information more easily and were more likely to want to meet up with this person.

Gurit Birnbaum, the lead researcher on these studies and a social psychologist at the Interdisciplinary Center, said we are wired to form relationships, which is why the thought of sex brings on the desire to emotionally connect.
“Sexual desire makes you chatty,” Birnbaum said.
Ultimately, this research showed us that simply picturing sex in your mind—whether it’s through a steamy image or your own imagination—makes it much easier for you to have sex and be intimate with another person. This could come in handy when things between you and your S.O. just aren’t as hot and heavy as they used to be.
