Blending In
The "barely there" fireplace in this Beverly Hills master bedroom is tucked away discreetly in the corner, featuring textured, charcoal-colored stones. The modern space features a headboard and canopy in a Romo velvet, and a throw by Bunny Williams Home. The vintage sheepskin chair is by Peter Hvidt, and the artwork to the right of the bed is by Joel Shapiro.
Firewood Wall
In the home office of this Lower East Side condo, a wall of firewood and exposed brick helps temper the modernness and cozy up the industrial space.
A Polished Marble Facelift
In Entertainment Tonight host Keltie Knight's master bedroom, an original fireplace is given a modern facelift with simple white marble and a matte black mantle. While the room boasts a modern design, the warmth of the hearth adds a layer of coziness.

In a Chicago Art Deco apartment, the master bedroom’s bed in a Mark Alexander velvet, the bench in a Dune leather, and the club chair in a Stroheim fabric are all custom; the 1950s Tommi Parzinger chest (next to the bed), Ico Parisi 1970s cabinet, and vintage Jules Leleu side table are all from Bernd Goeckler; the circa-1930 English mantel is from Westland London, and the carpet is from Stark.
Blackened-Steel Fireplace
In a Montana ski house, the blackened-steel mantel in the master bedroom is framed by a wall clad in Japanese clay tiles from Chelsea Arts Tile & Stone. The custom stool has a seat in an Edelman Leather shearling, and the fireplace tools are from Kaufmann Mercantile.
Sleek Wood-Burning Stove Fireplace
In the living area of a barn on Amanda Seyfried's Catskills property, an original wood-burning stove is backed by a wall of custom concrete tiles; the chair is vintage.
Minimal Outdoor Fireplace
In a Los Angeles farmhouse, the custom concrete sofas on a screened porch are topped with Brenda Antin pillows, the 1990 Mats Theselius chair is Swedish, the 1953 Bigfoot cocktail table is by Paul Frank, and the wall is clad in reclaimed farmhouse boards.

In the living room of fashion designer Andrew Gn's Paris apartment, 1950s wing chairs by Melchiorre Bega, upholstered in a Lelievre fabric, face armchairs by Emiel Veranneman and a cocktail table by Fredrik Schriever-Abeln, both from the 1960s; the custom-made floor lamps are by Didier Bazille, a painting by Philippe Garouste de Clauzade hangs above an Art Nouveau wood mantelpiece, the stools are late-19th-century, and the kilim is Turkish.

In the living room of Meredith Melling and Zach Iscol's retreat on Martha's Vineyard, which was designed by Ariel Ashe and Reinaldo Leandro of Ashe + Leandro, the sofa by Restoration Hardware is covered in a Perennials linen, the Hans Wegner chairs are upholstered in a Brochier fabric, and the walnut cocktail table and stool are custom; the rug is a vintage Tuareg, the ceiling beams are Douglas fir, and the room is painted in Benjamin Moore's Super White.
Narrow Covered Fireplace
The bed in the master bedroom of a London townhouse is dressed in a custom duvet made from a Dedar fabric, the letter-shaped stools are from Andrew Martin, and the walls are sheathed in a Jim Thompson silk with hand-sewn red silk borders; the drawing over the mantel is by Lluis Lleo, and the work over the bed, which is inscribed with Buddhist phrases, was purchased in Singapore.

In an Ibiza home, local-limestone floors covered in custom Spanish esparto rugs from Antonia Molina, walls in a sandy lime plaster, and a wood-beam ceiling set a rustic tone in the living room. Custom sofas by Atelier Tapissier Seigneur and curtains in a quilted Braquenié fabric; the Oeil cocktail table by Pierre Chapo is vintage, the lacquered-coral sculpture is by Maurizio Epifani, and the painting over the mantel is by Alex Katz.

Reinterpreted Antique Fireplace
In designer Christian Astuguevieille's French home, Astuguevieille designed the Afribaton chair, marble-topped table, hemp pedestal, Mira mirror, and sconce prototypes in the meeting room; the crystal chan- delier is from the early 20th century, and three of his 1992 glass sculptures in ultramarine blue fabric and bulrushes sit atop the 19th-century marble fireplace.
