Sorority Secrets: What College Girls Want in a Man
Hey, boys...
Girls are always searching for their perfect date. Unfortunately, most guys can’t figure out what women wants from minute to minute. So we thought we’d make things a little easier for you. We asked 7 sorority girls from Southern California what qualities they look for in a man.
Here’s what they have to say about their ideal guy.
Sure, that may seem like a very specific type of girl, but let’s be honest: We all want to know what sorority girls want.

Tall, Dark, Handsome & More
“I'm all about the tall, dark, handsome type. They also absolutely have to have a sense of humor that I can relate to. If they have a mom and/or sister(s), he has to love them and be nice to them. I would also prefer that he has a good relationship with his dad. I also like guys who prove that chivalry isn't dead (opening doors, paying at the movies or for my ice cream). And the biggest thing, is someone who listens, because I like to talk a lot!” – Shelby

Sporty
“I like guys who are manly and into sports, the outdoors, and typical guy things. I will marry that guy who ends up being the jock dad that BBQ's for the whole block and drinks beer with his friends on the weekends after coaching our kid’s football team. I like guys that I can joke with and that will dish it right back without it being mean spirited. Trust is also a huge thing for me. I like to be independent so it is important that they trust me enough to let me do my own thing and they are confident enough in themselves to know that they are still my number one. I cannot stand when guys are insecure. That is a deal breaker.” – Melanie

The Little Things
“One thing I look for is the way a guy acts around other girls, from his best friend to a stranger. The little things like opening the door and taking care of a friend in need definitely adds up in my mind. I always want someone who can make me laugh and put a smile on my face. If a guy can make a boring situation a fun one, he’ll win me over.” – Ishaani

Intelligence
“What makes me most attracted to a guy is intelligence. If he's as smart or smarter than me, makes me laugh, and can hold an intelligent conversation, I'll find him insanely hot. In a relationship, what I value most in a guy is a love for his family and, most importantly, a love for God.” –Amanda

Confidence
“One thing I look for is if a guy makes eye contact with me the very first time we see each other and smiles. It shows that he's confident and not timid! I also look for humor. Guys who can make me laugh, will win me over 9 out of 10 times. If we can hang out in a casual setting with no pressure at all, I will feel secure and comfortable”. – Keeley

The Musician
“I look at a guy's taste in music simply because that's such a huge part of my life. If he knows more about music than I do or loves the same kind of music as me, I'm probably going to be more interested in him. I also look for someone who I can see fitting in with my family. If he seems like he can deal with our craziness, he's probably a winner.”— Shelby

The Best Friend
“Honesty is the number one thing I look for in a guy. I don't want the charming guy who knows how to say all the right things, but doesn't back it up or follow through. I look for a guy who can show me he cares about me and isn't all talk. I want a guy who can be my best friend—a guy I don’t feel like I constantly have to impress. I want a guy who I can be myself and dorky around.” – Zoe
