If you love cats and
couldn't imagine anything better than being paid to stroke them all the
day long, then a veterinary surgery may have the purrfect job for you
(sorry, we couldn't resist).
Just Cats Veterinary Clinic and Cattery based in Clonsilla, Dublin are calling all 'crazy cat' people with serious 'cattitude' because they're looking for a professional Cat Cuddler. For real.

The clinic has posted a job ad on their website searching for someone to work with their 'feline friendly staff in a "no dogs" veterinary clinic'.

However, they insist they are an 'equal opportunities employer' and don't 'discriminate against dogs attending our veterinary clinic as patients'. Good to know.
They also ask the following cat-centric questions to prove your cat-loving credentials:
- Does cattitude come naturally to you?
- Have you counted kittens before you go asleep?
- Do you feed the stray cats in your locality?
- Does petting cats make you feel warm and fuzzy?
The
dream job description also states that the ideal candidate 'must have
gentle hands capable of petting and stroking cats for long periods of
time.
'They need to be softly spoke and capable of cat whispering to calm the nerves of some of our in patients.
'An ability to understand different types of purring is a distinct added advantage in helping you secure this position with us.'

A
veterinary council of Ireland recognised qualification is required for
the role. To apply, all you have to do is email them your cover letter,
CV to miaow@justcats.ie.
A
member of the Just Cats clinic has since told Prima that they have been
'inundated with applications' before stressing the importance of the
candidate being a "cat lover".

added: 'It really is the dream job and everybody is jumping at the
opportunity. What we want is to make every cats experience in the vets a
much nicer and pleasant experience. As we are "Just Cats" we want to
ensure that every cat is treated with the respect and patience that they
deserve. They are not small dogs and should not be treated as such.
'We
want somebody to come on board with us to sit with our patients after a
surgery or a vaccine or for whatever reason they are visiting us. They
will be cuddling, petting, reassuring and comforting them as they
recover.
'This allows
them to recover in a calm and gentle environment and this in turns gives
you a happy and relaxed cat. Owners are much happier and that is what
we here at just cats are all about. We want to go the extra mile to make
both cats and owners calm and relaxed and take away the fear of the vet
visit.'
