Bella Hadid wore one of the more daring looks
at this year's Met Gala. The look, for those who don't remember, was a
sheer, beaded catsuit with a plunging back made specially for Hadid by
Alexander Wang. Though she appeared to be pretty comfortable in the
piece (even skipping on the red carpet!), she's now revealed to Harper's Bazaar that in the world of fashion, things are not always what they seem.
[post_ads]She told Harper's Bazaar
that although the catsuit was comfortable to wear on the red carpet, "I
couldn't pee because I was sewn in from the top. I put my foot in the
wrong part of the leotard at one point, so I had to take it off and put
it back on again." Though we've all put our foot in the wrong pant leg a
time or two, the not-being-able-to-pee thing sounds like a dealbreaker —
but Alexander Wang apparently only gave her one option to wear to the
Met Gala, and she says she "wasn't going to say no to him." She trusted
his advice and they worked together to create the stunning look that had
Hadid crystallized from head (well, shoulder) to toe.
Even though
the construction of the catsuit made bathroom breaks impossible and she
felt some trepidation about wearing the look beforehand, it sounds like
she's pleased with the outcome. She said about the look, "I was worried
about wearing a catsuit when other people were wearing full gowns, but
fashion is about taking risks and I wore a crystallized full bodysuit to
the Met Ball. I guess that was the risk that I took and it was really
fun." Her look definitely stood out among the crowd and got people talking,
so the risk paid off. Maybe we'll be seeing her in more full body
catsuits in the future — but hopefully, for her sake, the next one she
wears will be a little more bathroom-friendly.
