Long before Kylie Jenner rocked Juicy Couture tracksuits and had several canine friends, and before Kendall Jenner rang in her 21st birthday in a glittering silver minidress, and way before Gigi Hadid was the blonde on the runways, there was Paris Hilton — the It-Girl of 2000s.
[post_ads]Hilton ushered in the era of reality TV stars (sorry, Kim Kardashian), made Juicy sweats iconic, owned a multitude of small animals, and even wore Kendall's silver dress first. Despite being relatively MIA in 2017, everything Paris did nearly two decades ago is hotter than ever right now. (Time is a flat circle.)

So to pay homage to the girl who created fashion trends that today's supermodels live and die for, W Magazine
spoke with Hilton about her favorite trends of the 2000s. And while
some seem ancient and laughable (those precious flip phones) others are
very familiar — um, hello, Millennial Pink.
"Graphic tees.
T-shirts are the best to tell the world your most profound thoughts,"
Hilton jokes. "No crop top is too cropped," she adds. But Von Dutch
trucker hats? Those are now a definite no in Hilton's book.
Hilton,
though, doesn't seem upset that today's fashion trends seem to
piggyback on her signature style. In fact, she's proud to have helped
create a crop of fearless celebrities who can pull off the hardest of
trends.

"To now see things on the runway, and to see girls wearing
things that I used to wear is really cool because nobody really dressed
like me back in the day," she tells W. "Young people now see what people wore before and want to bring it back."
And
Hilton even has some cheeky retro life advice that a person from any
decade can heed: "2000s babes always look like they're having fun, and
if you're not having fun, just leave."
That kind of carefree attitude? Well, that's hot.
