The L.A.-based decor and design store officially went bicoastal in December—check out the chic Tribeca space!
[post_ads]If decorating and designing your dream home seems like an
intimidating task, fear not—an innovative design concept is here to
help. Consort
is a cool new take on chic and comfortable home decorating. They offer
interior design services alongside a shopping showroom their brick and
mortar locations, as well as an online store. It was based
solely in Los Angeles—until now! East Coasters can get in on the fun now
too, as Consort opened a brand new Tribeca location back in December.
We chatted with Consort's founders, Mat Sanders and Brandon Quattrone,
about the exciting dream design spot. Check out their thoughts (and pics
of the new spot!) below.
The Nest: Tell us about your design inspiration for the new store.
Mat Sanders and Brandon Quattrone: Our new space highlights the
sophistication of New York with the flavor of California. Like L.A.,
visitors shopping the store will see the creativity at work as our NY
design team will be visible on the lower level. The old-world feel of
the building will bring an inherent New York vibe, and the condensed
footprint has given us the freedom to explore how to get more out of the
space: more purpose, more opportunities for communication and embracing
the nooks and crannies.
TN: What are your favorite parts of the new space?
MS/BQ:
All white everything, from floors to walls and ceilings, we gave the
whole space a blast of white to really allow playful design elements to
really stand proud. Also our signage! Unlike our L.A. sign (which is
very big and Hollywood), we went with something that felt more like part
of the building. We designed it to look like an old French street sign.
TN: Can you share more of the backstory of your decision to go bicoastal?
MS/BQ: New York City is the design capital of the world. We have
been thinking about opening in New York since the day we opened L.A.
Having met and both gotten our start in New York, we knew it would be
the next stop in Consort's journey in building the brand. We're so
excited and grateful to have two stores now to fill with our
one-of-a-kind vintage finds, favorite artists, and makers.
