5 Ways Social Media Is Ruining Relationships

When was the last time you got frustrated when you saw your girlfriend available on WhatsApp but not picking up your calls? Yes, technology has definitely been a boon for relationships, but it has made the game all the more intricate and complicated. The rules have changed, and many more protocols have come into play. The worst of them all are Facebook and WhatsApp, culprits who have been behind various abuses and phones being thrown at each other. Let's take a look at what ticks us off when it comes to social networking!

The Relationship Status
As kids, we were always told to stay away from fire, and yet our mind (or the lack of it) forced us to give it a shot and see how it feels. This one instance is no different. Changing your or your lover's relationship status on Facebook attracts attention of good and bad kind. This ends up sparking some rage suppressed by your or her ex, or maybe a crush who has been crushed even further by this move by you. All in all, this form of formal social announcement turns you and your other half into a forbidden fruit, attracting unneeded attention and unnecessary headaches that soon follow!

You Exhibit Happiness Than Experience It
Tagging your girlfriend in a status update, uploading an image, or even mentioning her once in a while on Facebook can be rewarding, but skip this process once or twice and you'll be facing a volley of assaults directed at you left-right-and center! This mannerism of showing your love to your loved one, and to the world as well is a daunting task, and if you forget to do such public announcements just to show how happy you are can result in sure-shot fight. Stop this online PDA and keep all the mushy stuff for you both to enjoy!

Mountain Out Of A Molehill
Did somebody poke your girlfriend over and over again? Or did just guy like and comment each and every profile picture of hers? We bet you've come across at least one such scum who is vainly trying to hit on her. But then there are other harmless but similar gestures made by few, and you, or your loved one ends up looking too much into it, resulting in the feeling of insecurity creeping in. We are all victimized by this, and it is a headache that takes some time to go away. The only solution is to think rationally and keep your head straight, and above all, keep the trust factor intact.

Stalking Is Inevitable
Did she just check into a movie theater on Facebook? When was she last seen on WhatsApp? Why isn't she responding to my chats on Facebook? These questions haunt us once in a while, but for few it tends to get pretty awful. Awful to an extent that the obsession ends up in a disturbing act. And you're not alone; there are her exes who might be doing the same, or maybe a crush. And this very thing gives rise to various new and unnecessary fears. So if you are doing any of these, stop right now!

Indulging In Quick Guilty Pleasures

Maybe you have had a pretty bad fight with your girlfriend and you're busy explaining the whole scenario to this lady friend of yours over yours. Soon, you start seeking solace in her comfort and end up exchanging few virtual kisses or so. Or maybe prefer telling her something than your other half. This is when you need to realize that you're in a tight situation, and if word goes out, it will be the end of your relationship. Such mistakes may happen without any prior notice and might end up in your freaking out over it. Calm yourself down and avoid such guilty pleasures.
