We love all forms of eggs, but not always cooking them. Take boiled
eggs for instance. Though you can easily boil them in a pot of water on
the cooktop, it's tough to get them just right, not too soft and gooey
nor hard and chewy, every single time. That's where the Krups Egg Cooker
can eliminate that kind of hassle, so you can make consistently boiled
eggs according to your preference.

How the Krups Egg Cooker performed:
With
only a 6" footprint (7" including the handle), you don't have to worry
about this little appliance hogging the counter. And the 1 to 7-egg
capacity can certainly meet a young family's needs, but it's also ideal
for a couple or singles.
It's a pretty basic operation to make
boiled eggs with this cooker and fairly foolproof. Eggs must be pierced
on the top, using the bottom of the beacon. Timing is regulated by the
amount of water you add, which generates enough cooking steam, till it
(water) evaporates.
The beacon has measurement marks, so choosing your prefered egg
doneness is key to it turning out right for you. Once you find the
perfect (water level), add your own black mark to avoid confusion later.
This unit also has a warming cycle, something that not all egg cookers
have. We loved the operation and results with this cooker; eggs turned
out as expected.
Though it doesn't save time in the morning - it actually takes
several minutes longer - it is consistent and allows you to step away to
get ready for breakfast. Plus it removes the regular hassle of cooking
the stovetop way. Just keep an ear out for the signal, so you can turn
it off or switch to warm; there is no auto-off on this unit.
As
for pricing, it's a little higher than some other popular models, but
does reflect extra features other models might not have, such as the
poached egg capability and warm setting. Overall, it does work as
advertised and I do like the two year warranty. If you're consistent
(with water), so will your eggs be. It's also a cute, practical and
affordable gift item.
With some convenience appliances, the
novelty can quickly wear off. An egg cooker is one appliance that I
thought we did not need, but after trying this Krups model, we don't
want to be without it. It's that handy. And I'm all for shortening my
workload, albeit a few eggs at a time (if necessary).
