Grab a paintbrush—here are the paint colors and styles you'll see everywhere in 2019.
If you're looking for paint color inspiration or are embarking on a DIY furniture-painting project, Pinterest is likely one of the first places you go for ideas. A treasure trove of creative inspiration, it's no surprise that Pinterest reports that a whopping 83 percent of its home-related searches are for day-to-day DIY projects. Rather than major renovations or total home makeovers, Pinterest users are more often on the lookout for DIY's they can actually do themselves, including painting. Today, in its Pinterest 100 report, the site revealed its top trend predictions for 2019 in every category, including the paint and color trends we can expect to see taking over our living rooms, bedrooms, and kitchens in the year to come. Check out the top paint trends of 2019, below, then make a New Year's resolution to try out at least one of them.
1. Mustard Yellow
2. Geometric Paint
Paint trends are shapeshifting in 2019, with painted triangles, hexagons, and semi-circles shaking up boring solid-color walls. To nail this look, you'll need two things: first, a cohesive color palette, and second, painter's tape to create crisp lines. Above, Marij Hessel from the blog Enter My Attic used colorful triangles to add some edge to a blank white wall.
3. Painted Floor Tiles
Replacing outdated tile floors can be an expensive and time-consuming project, so instead, more and more Pinterest users are choosing to paint over unsightly floors. Searches for "painted floor tiles," are up an astounding 1,276 percent in 2018, reflecting interest in quick fixes and affordable DIY projects when a full-on renovation isn't in the cards. If you're looking for Spanish-, Portuguese-, or Morrocan-inspired tile patterns, Cutting Edge Stencils is your one-stop-shop for stencils and supplies.
