Who doesn’t love a colorful vintage Pyrex dish? Whether you found it at a thrift shop or inherited it from grandma’s collection, if you have a well-loved Pyrex dish, chances are, it’s sporting a few scratch marks. While we may be able clean baked-on stains off Pyrex, no amount of scrubbing seems to be able to tackle the scuffs.

But now there’s hope! Here’s how to restore your Pyrex to its original bright and shiny glory with one life-changing product.

How to Remove Scratches from Pyrex

Instagram creator @vintagebarandkitchen showed us exactly how to remove scratches from Pyrex. It’s super easy! You’ll need this Peek paste (aka the secret weapon) and of course, your scratched up dish.

What You’ll Need

  • Pyrex dish with scratch or scuff marks
  • Dish soap
  • Microfiber cloth
  • Peek polish

Directions

  • Wash your Pyrex dish like normal, with hot water and dish soap. Wash away any food or residue, and try to scrub off the scratches or scuff marks with a sponge or dishwashing brush. The stubborn scratch marks that remain after the dish has been thoroughly washed are what we’re going to tackle next.
  • Rinse and dry the dish.
  • Using a damp microfiber cloth, apply a small amount of Peek polishing paste directly to the scratched area.
  • Immediately polish the dish and buff away scratches using a circular motion. Don’t let the paste dry.
  • Rinse and dry. No more scratches!

Will This Work for All Scratches?

Peek is mildly abrasive, which makes it a miracle worker on surface scratches and scuffs (it also leaves a protective coating on your dish which should last about three months). But if your Pyrex dish has deep scratches that penetrate the colorful coating, unfortunately, they’re probably there for good. If you want new, unscratched dishware, take a look at your Pyrex model number and check Etsy for a similar piece.

If you’re looking for alternative options, try one of our other favorite cleaning products, Bar Keepers Friend. Apply Bar Keepers Friend Soft Cleanser onto the scratched Pyrex dish and let it sit for about 10 to 15 seconds. Scrub the dish with a damp cloth or sponge, then rinse and repeat as needed.
