Amazon might not be your first thought for wedding shopping, but the e-retailer is looking to change that with the launch of its new custom shop. As part of its already-existing “Handmade at Amazon” storefront, it has added a special “Wedding Shop” that offers myriad customizable items for the bride, wedding party, and guests alike. Looking for those matching necklaces for your bridesmaids? One-of-a-kind ties for the groomsmen? Amazon might just be the destination you’ve been searching for.
The new Wedding Shop marks the Handmade shop’s first foray into apparel accessories, though it has yet to add actual clothing (i.e., wedding dresses and tuxedos) to the mix. Some of those accessories, however, include jewelry, shoes, handbags, and the like.

The head of marketing for Handmade at Amazon tells WWD, “We created the Handmade Wedding Shop with the savvy couple in mind. The ability to purchase products from local artisans on the Handmade Wedding Shop offers customers a boutique shopping experience coupled with the convenience and selection of [Amazon].”
WWD also reported in March that Amazon is looking to expand upon its growing private-label business, so it might not be long before you can purchase wedding apparel on the site with just one click.
As part of the e-shop, which Amazon describes on the site as an exploration of “unique, handcrafted items for your wedding day and all the special events leading up to ‘I do,’” the offerings span from jewelry to paper products; and floral arrangements, venue décor, and the like. It is a destination for the happy duo to shop for their wedding party gifts and for guests to shop for the new couple.
