Pineapple Jack-o’-Lanterns Are the Best Halloween Trend of the Year
By Jillian Quint, PureWow
Dressing up like the royals is great and everything, but pineapple jack-o’-lanterns have officially won our heart for the best Halloween trend of the year. Here’s how to make one for your front porch.
What you need: A pineapple, a spoon, paper towels, a sharp knife and a battery-operated tea light.
What you do: Slice off the stem—just make a straight cut through the fruit about an inch below the top—and set it aside for later. Next, use the knife to carefully cut and score the fruit and then use the spoon to scoop out the inside. (Save it for a smoothie.) Pat the interior dry with the paper towel and then grab your knife again to carve out a face, the same way you would with a pumpkin.
The final step: Switch on the battery-operated tea light and place it inside the fruit, then put the top (aka your pineapple’s spiky “hair”) back in its original spot. Voilà , you’re the coolest house on the block.
